A couple days ago I went to Kensington Palace, which was the home to Queen Victoria. While I was there I learned about Queen Victoria's childhood and what it was like for her to grow up preparing to become Queen. I saw the room she was born in and the room where she played with her dolls.

I also saw the set of rules Victoria had to follow growing up. These were established her mother and Sir John Conroy who knew that Victoria could one day be Queen. They wanted to possibly rule as regent if Victoria became Queen before the age of 18. I learned that Victoria loved to go to plays. She would always go out to plays or performances. Victoria also enjoyed dancing and holding balls at Kensington, and at her 17th birthday celebration she met Albert (her soon-to-be husband) at her ball. After she became Queen she moved into Buckingham Palace and ruled for many years.
